Welcome to Waldhotel Felsentor!

The team led by chef Magnus Zimmermann warmly welcomes you to our establishment in the heart of the Palatinate Forest. We are looking forward to spending a pleasant time with you, offering delicious meals, engaging conversations, and great company!

Before you delve into our menu to decide what we can delight you with, we would like to tell you a bit about us and our philosophy:

With Waldhotel Felsentor, young entrepreneur Magnus Zimmermann realized his dream of running his own business in his hometown, where he can live out his own vision. Since his training days, he has been passionately dedicated to the culinary arts, having worked in various regions of Germany and abroad, accumulating a wealth of experience that he now wants to put into practice in his own establishment.

In our kitchen, we exclusively use natural, local, and seasonal ingredients. We completely refrain from additives such as flavor enhancers or preservatives, which naturally excludes the use of pre-prepared products. Even our spice blends are made from scratch. With the concept of sous-vide cooking, our dishes are prepared in a way that preserves nutrients, intensifying the flavors of spices and herbs. This method was developed in the 18th century, was first introduced into modern gastronomy in the 1960s, and has been continually evolving since then. In upscale gastronomy, this practice is now indispensable.

To satisfy all our guests, we always offer some vegetarian and vegan dishes on our menu. The menu is revised every 6 to 8 weeks by the kitchen team to incorporate seasonal products and add variety to our offerings. In the restaurant, we complement this culinary conviction with our passion for wine and other beverages. Here too, our focus is on the region, but we also want to introduce you to some specialties from neighboring regions and around the world by highlighting selected products.

We aim to pass on this passion for hospitality and gastronomy, which is lived out in our establishment, to young people, which is why we serve as a training ground.
